ANDY IN LANGA 2022
From 16 September 2022 until 8 January 2023 the Torre di Barbaresco hosted “ANDY IN LANGA” an exhibition set up with only original works by the master of Pop Art: Andy Warhol.
The exhibition was set up inside the Torre di Barbaresco and could be visited every day.
Due to its nature and location, the Torre di Barbaresco can sometimes resemble a lighthouse. A lighthouse whose walls instead of being hit by waves and tides find themselves surrounded by vineyards and hills. And exactly as lighthouses do with ships, we too guide our visitors, and not only them, in the great little world of the Langhe. And just to better communicate this territory we asked ourselves: ‘What are the Langhe?’ The Langhe are above all colors. The white of the Alba truffle, the red of the great Nebbioli, but also the green of the vines and the yellow-orange of the white wines, of sunrise and sunset. The Langhe, however, are also geometry. The gentle undulating motion of the hills, the roundness of the barrels, the perfect lines of the rows and the verticality expressed by the plants that frame the landscape.
Through these different points of view, it becomes almost obvious to see that thread, which at first may seem hidden, which connects this incredible territory with art and culture. The common root is identity. Expressive, environmental, artistic and personal identity. Hence the reason why we chose to organize the “Andy in Langa” exhibition. To celebrate one of the many identities of these magnificent places: the Pop one.
Through this exhibition we want to try to draw the gaze of visitors and lovers of the Langhe, but not only, to the great expressive power of these gentle hills.
However, the “Andy in Langa” exhibition would not have been possible without the vital support of Stefano Galliano, the collectors Mrs. Lorella Bresso and Mr. Giovanni Galliano and Dr. Eugenio Falcioni. We would also like to thank the Municipality of Barbaresco, the International Alba White Truffle Fair, the Langhe Monferrato Roero Tourist Consortium, Richdan Staff London and Errebi Mobility for the support they have provided us.
